While doing twitter catch-up, I began hoping wondering if Scott and Tessa could be taking a shot at re-setting the narrative. Maybe they were toying with the idea of launching a menage a trois along the lines of Anais Nin/Henry Miller/June Miller. Tessa and Kaitlyn sort of fit the parts. Maybe the Kaitlyn Lawes/Scott Moir origin story would take a turn:

From wikipedia:
At the end of 1931, [Anais] Nin, finds herself dissatisfied with being a timid, faithful wife to her banker husband, Nin and her husband contemplate the possibility of opening their relationship. However when Anais meets June Miller, she is magnetically drawn to her and perceives June to be the most beautiful and charismatic woman she has ever met. Nin pursues an extremely intense, ambiguous, sexually charged friendship with her. When June leaves, Nin becomes involved with Henry, and begins an uninhibited sexual and emotional affair with him, which prompts an intellectual and sensual awakening. A friendship is formed between the two that was maintained throughout both artist's lives.
Henry, June and Anais

It’s right under our nose.

Come on guys, do something. Apropos of something much more serious, The Daily Show's Jon Stewart recently talked about "the nuanced language of lack of effort." Scott and Tessa's social media presence isn't all that nuanced, but the lack of effort part is nailed. I don't know if it's @jonescurl ladies specifically, or curling in general, but the curling angle has dull optics.

Apologies to anyone digesting a meal, and I'll be posting about something else completely in a minute, but because of other issues I've been following, and other subjects I'm reading about, I was recently thinking again about the gay panic, as well as other point-and-laugh elements, of Scott and Tessa’s fauxality show, such as when Scott’s small penis-having buddies* told Scott they’d be happy to get into figure skating if “We can use your partner.” I initially clocked this as gross because Tessa is Scott’s wife, and you shouldn’t be heh heh-ing with your buddies about what a hot piece of ass your wife is, particularly when she’s also your children’s other parent. But when I think of it again, the disgusting part was where if you want to get with a grown assed woman, you don't ask her. Barter with Scott.

I know they were pretending she wasn’t his wife. They were pretending it was Scott and his buddies showing all kinds of appropriate respect to his platonic skating partner. But they weren't pretending about the demographic this was all pitched towards. Nobody ever has to ask if it's low status females. Just look at anything they do, and don't let the contempt hit you in the eye. If it were dogs, or aliens, or a planet of Na'vi, they'd raise the bar. (No offense to dogs, I love them.)

*******************
Here's something that I've been following. (Hint, professional sports are a cesspool.)
[FIFA is an] organization avowedly devoted to the best interests of soccer [which] instead sacrifices human lives and the game itself on the altar of greed for one reason: patronage politics.
The government of international sports is confoundingly opaque, conducted largely in the shadow world of hotel suites and private jets led by men in dandruff-flecked suits.
The above is from Sports Illustrated’s coverage (June 16, 2015) of the FIFA corruption investigation. Sports Illustrated's broad use of "international sports" is intentional.

FIFA is a big story. It's massive amounts of money and the most popular sport in the world, and has gotten itself into an international criminal investigation. Major soccer events, not just the World Cup, are awarded to countries that commit human rights violations in the process of staging the event (e.g., conscripting the equivalent of slave labor to construct venues destined to end up as white elephants), among other issues. The “ripple effect” of FIFA’s corruption is horrific.

Thankfully, figure skating doesn’t have that kind of money, but after Sochi, we know it's just as dirty.

Yes, soccer's issues are a lot more serious because they can be catastrophic for human beings who aren't even involved in the sport. But I think systemic corruption in other international sports, and the lack of meaningful public effort and energy focused on it is worth caring about in its own right.** But sports journalists are publicists and entertainers. It's only because the FIFA scandal rises to international, non-internally adjudicated corruption that real-er journalists got interested. When things hit tribunals, it's okay to independently investigate all of a sudden.

In one way, those concerned with soccer's problems have an advantage over those concerned about figure skating. Soccer is a simple game to understand. Everyone from grade school youth soccer organizations to World Cup finalists use the same rulebook: The Laws of the Game.

Figure skating is a “sport” where the Olympic gold medal can be stolen in front of millions of viewers, and none of the media present admits to being knowledgeable enough to point this out with informed conviction based upon a confident understanding of skating skills and the rules. Including journalists who’ve written multiple books about figure skating culture. They're a little upset, but kind of lose the thread when they try to address it (see Steve Milton's feeble cris de coeur.). This is because "Figure skating journalists” love the culture, but don't care about actual skating (like many fans, they don't distinguish between performance values and skating values). They are actively hostile to thinking fans of the sport.

It's comforting to read more about other sports where shadiness takes place directly in front of journalists, many of whom call it out for what it is, to little effect. Maybe if journalists really called out figure skating from an informed perspective, figure skating would just keep on truckin, and there's no need to be frustrated that figure skating sports writers are just a bunch of groupies who don't know what they're talking about. Maybe it wouldn't make a difference.

For example, Bob Baffert is the trainer of American Pharoah, the three year old colt who just won U.S. horse racing’s Triple Crown after a 37 year draught. Last fall, another Bob Baffert three-year old, Bayern, “won” the Breeders Cup Classic ($5 million purse) after Bayern swerved directly left out of the gate and body slammed his primary competition, including the betting favorite, Shared Belief.

Bayern's jockey is in stripes.

Nothing against the horses themselves. All non-human participants in this melee are only three years old.

Santa Anita Racetrack’s three racing stewards put up an inquiry, but decided to let the results stand. They said because the incident happened at the start, it "didn’t affect the outcome of the race", nor where the individual horses were “reasonably expected to place.” Shared Belief, the favorite, ended up fourth, and Moreno, the early speed expected to run with Bayern and gas him before the finish, never got to run at all.** * Bayern came out of the gate, immediately slammed sideways instead of running straight, and took out his primary competition, Shared Belief and Moreno, who had post positions immediately to his inside, and Bayern kept on steamrolling sideways til he was at the rail, three or four paths over. He did a major lateral move instead of a forward angle.

It’s okay though. Santa Anita’s racing officials knew, prior to a race, where the horses would finish. They must all be very, very rich. It also kind of makes people feel silly about the big deal made over the post draw for the Kentucky Derby every year. Who knew it didn't matter? I expect Baffert will contain himself now every time one of his horses is bothered in the early going – he usually can’t shut up about losing all chance before the race even begins.

Stewards in New York and Kentucky said the horse should have been disqualified. Broadcast journalists live calling the event said the horse should have been disqualified.

And here’s where racing fans have it over figure skating: the Santa Anita stewards, who lunch, dine, text, phone, and share the box all the time of the wealthiest trainer-in-residence, Baffert, found a CBCH Rule to hide behind when justifying their decision, the “reasonably expected to place” rule that was widely mocked. So, bad luck for that one race, BUT, it appears that Santa Anita is going to do something about the rule. It often works that way. Put up a big front and bluster through the immediate debacle, then hustle to fix it behind the scenes to avoid another embarrassment and, going forward, to less obviously piss off the betting public that underwrites the entire enterprise.

Figure skating is immune to embarrassment, because nothing embarrasses figure skating, not in the competitive realm, and not in the world of exhibition and show skating, more than the fact that its demographic are women who are kind of of middling age, with a somewhat younger crowd of the fangurl persuasion folded in. The money both groups spend on this sport must smell like someone's embarrassing aunt. If only figure skating had, as its demographic, a legion of beer-bellied, comb-over guys with maybe thirty teeth to share among a group of five, reliably wagering the grocery money, like thoroughbred racing has. Figure skating could hold its head up and maybe gain the self-respect to set its house in order.

Here’s something familiar – the jockey most impacted by Bayern’s body slam – Mike Smith, aboard Shared Belief, fulminated after the race to the first journalist to stick a mike under his nose. He thereafter went quiet. Smith rides a lot of Baffert’s big money horses, so what can he do? As Baffert and the connections sat at the press conference, Baffert leaned over, apparently indifferent to the live mikes, and instructed Bayern’s jockey, Martin Garcia, to say the ground broke under him. This became part of the story, but it was strictly color. There’s no accountability.

P.S. I actually like Bob Baffert well enough, and love American Pharoah, but in this case, his horse should have come down.

Who knows what VM and Co. thought they were doing in Scotland. It sure was not for the benefit of VM's "brand." Whatever it was, it was nauseating to see Tessa fall over herself for her new extra special bff, kaitlyn lawes, who came out of that event sparkling. All the promotion was for herself. She acquired many new besties who proclaim her to be the most adorable thing imaginable.

Well, good for her. Why not take advantage of VM's situation? They cannot tell the truth. They *must* have Scott with a GF tagging along. They all look like idiots but that doesn't seem to concern anyone in the least.

If all of VM's shenanigans turn out to be closely tied to the corruption embedded in figure skating at the elite level, I'm sure no one will be surprised. Meanwhile, kaitlyn laws' gig as Scott Moir's GF has been very beneficial to *her* personal brand.

TSN has also been cashing in on this. I don't get the willingness of supposedly reputable companies to engage in a National hoax involving their Olympic heroes but they're involved to their eyeballs. A pox on all of them.

How would that work, exactly? VM sham because they were told they wouldn't be allowed to win otherwise? It seems to me you're combining two situations you don't like and trying to connect them but I don't see how there could possibly be a direct link.

I know as fans it can be tempting to blame others for this mess, like ISU or SC officials, the fake girlfriends, journalists, etc. But we have to be realistic. VM are the ones who are responsible and if they wanted to stop it would stop.

If TSN said no, they'd find another journalist to promote the sham. If Kaitlyn Lawes decides she's had enough, they can find another woman to do the job. Skate Canada doesn't appear to be actively involved in the sham anymore, yet it still goes on. OC barely posts anymore and this place has died down yet the sham marches on. This thing is only going to stop when VM and co take a hard look at the real reasons that are motivating them and the consequences of continuing. I hope for their sakes it's sooner rather than later.

    5. Where are all those people who claimed to have first hand knowledge about VM's first child now ? All of a sudden lost your connection to VM ? Or do you need OC to make up a scenario so you can simply jump on her bandwagon whenever somebody doubts your stories about a second child ?

    7. The problem I have with "there is no first child" argument is that there is photo evidence-particularly the leopard dress wearing Tessa beside Ashley Wagner-she looks like a whale! there's on old blog entry on here "seems to be a greyish area" that pictorially looks at side by side Tessas.

    8. There is evidence that Tessa was significantly heavier during that time. Could she have been pregnant? Sure. Is Scott the father? Maybe. Are they secretly married and raising the child together? Not a chance in hell.

So do you think Tessa lost the baby or gave it for adoption? Or has she been secretly raising it? If you find the idea of Tessa raising a secret child as something possible, it's not a big stretch at all, IMO, that she and Scott are married and raising the child. Hiding a marriage is extremely easy. It's hiding pregnancy and a child that's much more difficult. That was the part I found most difficult to believe, although I do now. The showmance part of it (him and other girls) I always just found to be very fake.

Lol. More than likely, they will now do something to push back against this. "What? We're not believable? Let's give them something to believe..."

Mr. Moir has engaged in some rather vile posing/behaviour, all for the sake of getting across the point that he *really really* is dating (insert name of current fake gf).

Is it really her niece or her own daughter?

  4. It's her niece, you moron. Or did she have a baby last July and not November as your conspiracy says? Usually, a cigar is just a cigar. They're both single. She is a different background and class from Scott. They're friends and skating partners, that's it. Oy, you need help...or you get your laughs constructing this fantasy and answering your own replies. Either way, intelligent and articulate and knowledgeable, but psychiatric problems. 6. Before Casey Virtue's twitter account went private - there was one reference with Tessa's niece's name - so I have to agree with anon at 8:01 pm that its her niece. I also don't believe in the sham but I would have to agree with 8:01 pm that I also get the impression that there is unfortunately a class issue with VM. I just hope that they continue to skate for the next year or so. Do I believe that the ISU and other skating federations including Skate Canada screwed them over out of at least one additional World Championship, one Grand Prix Final and the Olympic Gold in Sochi - definitely. Its interesting to see that Tessa is still posting photoshoot pictures of herself. And as already mentioned before Tumblr fans have lost interest, particularly after the Gold Medal Plates event in Scotland. Let's see if Ms. Lawes decides to go to these Lindt Master classes as well.

    ReplyDelete
  7. How does it make any difference whose birthday party it was. There's no reason to doubt Tessa has a niece (shrug). It doesn't change any of the facts about Tessa's true life.

Tessa and Scott's families are very close. Imagining a class barrier buys into fan fiction.

Agreed VM are bleeding fans. There's definitely a steady, continual loss of interest. Looking at their moronic PR plus recent OTT promotion of Scott's "girlfriend", as opposed to Tessa&Scott, the fallout was predictable.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Its very obvious there is a class barrier of some sort between these two. Tessa enjoys things like expensive clothes and jewelery as well as trips to Europe and associating with famous/well off people. Whereas Scott likes none of those things and he is not concerned with his image whatsoever.

    ReplyDelete
  9. No, 9:50, it is not "obvious" that there's a class barrier between Tessa and Scott. What is obvious is that you are making up scenarios based on the 1% about them that is public.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I don't think the differences they advertise are necessarily made up but they are certainly exaggerated. " Or VM closed down leaks and were a lot more careful this time around? The blog changed things."

And how exactly did they do that ? The blog always promoted the notion that all of Ilderton, London and the entire skating world knows about them and actively supports their sham and that VM are openly living as a family with a child in London. That's a few thousand people in the know. Plus little Moir and dozens of small children who have not yet learned to keep secrets.
In order to close leaks they would have to keep little Moir locked up and preferrably change location because all those who claim to have first hand knowledge would sooner or later run into VM again in a small town like London. Or do you think they'd only take little Moir outside while the new baby sits at home and never gets to spend any time with their parents because VM have to keep the illusion alive that they only have one chil
The White House can't close leaks but VM can ?

    ReplyDelete

    1. I'm not saying nobody knows, just that it's a smaller number. And I'm pretty sure most of the people claiming to know it's 100 % true don't mean they bumped into the family on the street. There are other ways.

It's obvious the blogger was cut off from info after the first kid, as were other people. From what I understand, VM put very little effort in hiding stuff at first, which is why it was such an open secret. And doing the rounds of every media outlet in Toronto while heavily pregnant was certainly helpful as well. As long as it didn't come out in public (or in the general gossip rounds), they didn't seem to care.

I sometimes wonder how things would have gone if OC hadn't decided to out them, since it feels like they've been pushing back against the blog ever since. I don't think it's necessary to hide the kids in the house to keep it away from the Internet, but I do wonder what their kids are missing out on because of their parents' delusions. Going to the local park together is one thing, but would they "risk" going to some major festival together? Probably not.

      Delete
    2. And anon 7:19 basically confirms no one, including oc, knows for sure the second kid even exists.

      Delete
    3. And yet everbody acts like they've been present while the child was conceived.
None of those who believe the second child exists could even come up with a decent timeline for the pregnancy.

And, " I don't have to tell you how I know " is elementary school speak for, " I have no clue but I'm not going to admit it ".

    4. Well like 1:14 said, call it a sham, set up and approved by Tessa. All the wedding pictures will all be Photoshopped and then they will say it was all a ruse to hide Tessa's imagined enlarging belly because she is pregnant again.

Admit Scott and Kaitlyn really are an item, but only because Kaitlyn broke up Scott and Tessa's marriage...either way you will never hear they say they were wrong!

    5. No. Lets hope that never happens.

      - I guess a marriage will finally prove what's reality and what's (clearly) fake and no matter what explanations the blog comes up with it won't defer from the fact that their sham is bust. But I would rather see T&S get married (and this is coming from someone who knows they are not together!). At least their fake platonicking on the ice was much more appealing than what has happened to Scott ever since he hooked up with Kaitlyn.

And sorry but I have to laugh at the anon who thinks there's a possibility that Kaitlyn would ever break up a marriage between T&S assuming one did exist. LOL ! Ya right! Scott would never look twice at someone like Kaitlyn if he had a girl like Tessa.

They're invariably ridiculous about the most mundane things. Good friends do birthdays and Christmas. This is so ott not credible. It's also calling the fans stupid, selling them dumb tales they're supposed to pretend are real.

Remember the time they wove an elaborate story about having never, ever, accidentally lip-bumped except *once*. And then Tessa was so embarrassed she couldn't look Scott in the eye. Mind you, they told this story when they were already in their 20's and said that was the only time something like that had *ever* happened.

Even this blog doesn't care about them anymore and the Tumblr fans are getting fewer as well.

It might depend how much the VM sham is fan-driven? VM have continued their charade regardless of fan reactions.

The current tumbler fans -- who it seems are mostly younger/newer fans -- are becoming aware of the patterns, such as expecting some kind of shoving of GF/BF in fans' faces after any VM "cuteness" that brings out the inner shipper in these fans. It remains to be seen if they end up disinterested in VM after too many times of being jerked around, as many other fans have experienced and left the fandom.

I've been around since VM's junior years. Nothing has made any dent in the sham. Not fans falling over themselves to believe them nor fans calling them out on their lies. In the end, what I see is that many walk away in disgust. Whether fans believe their narratives or not, most still end up getting tired (and disgusted) of their PR-games.

As always. we're left with the question -- Why are they doing this? What is the motivating factor? When they were very young it could have been to keep a barrier between them and the fans. However, by now that motive is no longer reasonable and yet they continue shamming. And they continue losing fans. It's their call.

    2. Oh lord. Now you're insinuating that they've been shamming ever since they were in juniors. What's next? It's true love?

    3. I don't think that comment is insinuating. It's flat out saying they've been shamming since they were juniors. I've been around since then as well and I agree with 8:29.

Hello. Junior interviews where they say they're like brother and sister.

Brother-and-sister my ass. They weren't trafficking in fake SO's but they were already lying about the status of their own relationship.

    4. I don't see anything wrong with that, especially when they were still in juniors. But lying can be a trap. It starts with something fairly innocuous but if you're not careful it can get incredibly elaborate, lies to cover for more lies, until you get to the point where you feel you're in too deep and have no choice but to double down and keep digging. They've been lying for so long now that it's pretty much all they know, the prospect of stopping must be quite scary for them.

It's messed up but I can see how they could get to this point, especially with a blog to fight against. And I don't see them stopping unless it all blows up around them.

  19. I wish they were genuine. I want to love them so much, but it's hard to love liars.

  20. They're not liars. Don't let this blog influence you. It's just the insane ramblings of someone who has no idea what they're talking about.

    1. @12:00.
You've got it wrong. It's not the blog doing the influencing. It's Tessa and Scott's own actions and the knowledge many have of the truth.

All this blog has done is to say what was true re. VM's relationship and maintain a sort of documentation of the lies. Yes, there's also been speculations and discussions about other things but the basic premise laid out in this blog from the beginning is entirely true.

    2. Wrong. Oh so wrong. You're just talking out of your ass, my dear. There is so super secret marriage that the cia would be jealous of. No top secret children who, according your theory, have clearly never seen the light of day.

It's time to open your eyes and actually take a look at what's going on. Scott is involved with Kaitlyn Lawes and has been for a year and a half now. The facts are there, all of you believers in this blog are just too high and mighty to admit you worshipped a false God.

    3. Why are you here then? Seems like a waste of your time.

  21. I'm here because I hate seeing Tessa and Scott's names being dragged through the mud and the anger slung at them over something they aren't doing. It's not fair to them and it's not fair to the fans who might be taken in by the lies published here.

    1. You cannot say u know this for a fact. I'm sorry, u do not know for a fact that they're not together. The people who say they are together all say they know for a fact. You, the defender of VM honor, do not.

    2. @ 5:15 And do you really think you're going to shut down this place with your little tantrums? Or even change people's minds? If anything, coming on here when the place is half dead is counterproductive, as it only serves to revive the conversation.

I think people who get this worked up over the blog do so because deep down they know that it's probably right. Otherwise why get this upset over a handful of delusional idiots, even after several years? But if you're trying to shut down your own brain along with other people's then it all makes sense.

  22. @5:26 And just because somebody claims to know something " for a fact " it means they're right ? There are people who claim to know for a fact that aliens exist, I guess you also believe them because if they say they know for a fact then it must be true.
A lot of people said they know for a fact that VM are not together, what about them ?

The majority of people who claim to know that VM are together just parrot what OC dictates. Once OC doesn't provide an answer and they're left to their own devices they suddenly don't know what to say anymore or become awfully quiet. You can see that whenever somebody brings up the alleged second child.

No, of course not, I agree that's a terrible argument. But thinking something is impossible doesn't necessarily make it impossible, thoughts and beliefs are not facts and are influenced by our biases.

I can't even begin to argue with you because your comments are full of anger, exaggerations, false equivalencies...the furthest thing from facts. How am I supposed to debate your feelings? There's no point, which is why the whole thing is a waste of time.

    2. Anger ? I'm not angry at all and you don't have to debate my feelings euther because I honestly have no feelings on the matter at all. I neither doubt nor believe this blog and I don't feel cheated by Tessa and Scott. The whole story, true or false, provides a lot of entertainment and that's all I'm interested in.

The only thing that bothered me was the silly argument that this blog must be right because random strangers on the internet say so. That is so out there that it can only be met with ridicule.

Other than that I am completely emotionless in regards to this whole thing so please don't try to paint me as an emotional fury who can't be talked to :)

    3. 8:58 - You're not angry, you're just bothered by some silly arguments on this blog? Oooookay. But your non-anger, emotionless opinions keep bringing you back to this horrible, terrible, delusional blog. Your indifference makes it imperative to keep posting in here.

    4. 11:20 am did you even bother to read my post or are you only interested in making smug ( and false ) comments ?
I said I am interested in the entertainment value that VM and this blog provide. That's why I visit this blog. Is that really so hard to understand ?

The only one who is getting emtional in this conversation is you. You can keep making passive-aggressive remarks and roll your eyes, but I'm afraid it won't get us anywhere.

    5. 5:56 again.

" But your non-anger, emotionless opinions keep bringing you back to this horrible, terrible, delusional blog. "

And here you're just making things up, I never talked about the blog being horrible and delusional. I didn't even mention the blog in my previous posts at all. I only talked about that one specific poster who made the odd argument that something must be true because random strangers say so, that did not involve this blog at all.

If you are so eager in being angry at least be angry about things that I've actually said and don't make something up.
