I've got nothing for September. This photo though continues to look more like an SNL parody of their nonsense than the thing itself. Scott's acting always comes across like someone who read about the emotion he's impersonating but never actually observed or felt it. Tessa just works the posture and the.pageant persona. Not where she started but that's where she's landed.
Do athletes in other sports have these facades of not being married if they are, in fact, married, or is it just in figure skating? What's the point at this point?

DeleteI agree, I don't understand why these blog's author keeps pushing the secret marriage and kids story. Why would they do that? I get that there are narcissistic people would want to deceive others and keep them guessing about their lives just for attention. That part is, somewhat, plausible, though improbable. What I cannot make sense of is why would so many people (team members, other skaters, journalists, neighbours,acquaitances, basically their whole hometown population), a lot of whom apparentely hate them, keep quiet about it. Even if they threatened everyone, someone would spill that tea. You can't convince me that someone like Maddison Hubbel, for example, who loves shading people, would not, at least, give some hints about it.
ReplyDeleteThe subject of why people "keep quiet" has been discussed ad nauseam over the last decade by both OC and others in the comments, but I will do this again.
DeleteFirst, don't confuse "keeping quiet" as being the same thing as some sort of big reveal in and by the press. People know VM are married with kids and they talk about it. OC knows. I and others know--via information learned from other people in the offline real world. Just because there hasn't been some big press reveal or it's scoffed at on message boards and other social media outlets, it doesn't mean other people don't know and talk. A lot of people know and a lot of people talk.
The press isn't going to out VM unless VM want to be out. Other skaters aren't going to out VM either. Press do not want to lose access. Outing VM would be a breach of trust and a lot of other skaters at the elite level--most other skaters probably--would also deny access. At some level, too, the press is complicit in helping VM's agenda along. Several are quiet happy to help.
Repeating myself, but elite skating is an insular world and they are going to keep each others secrets. Different skaters get along to different degrees, but nobody is spilling the beans on anyone else.
On that note, VM were the pioneers of hiding their children and lying about what their true relationship status is, but they are not the only ones now and haven't been for awhile. There are at least two more skating teams, both currently competing, who are also hiding a child/children and lying about their relationship status. Madison Donohue isn't going to out VM because she has her own kids and relationship status to hide and lie about. Also, Tessa and Madison are friends, despite what fans have decided about the situation.
Look, I really, truly wanna believe they are married with kids. That option is so much better than mascarin/ reilly. But I just can't wrap my head around it no matter how hard I try.

DeleteAdria Diaz is the Jessica Dube in the H/D sham--fake. Hubbell/Diaz are fake. Smart/Donohue were fake. Madison and Zach are still together off ice--always have been. Engaged in late summer 2014 and married in in late Spring/early Summer 2015. First child was born a little over a year later in 2016. Second child was born two years later. So, 4 and 2 now.

DeleteI don't know if they are still together now, but Weaver and Poje were definitely a couple and definitely living together for a large chunk of their career, even when they told the media they were platonic. This is 100% factual and even if you didn't know them, if you ever happened to sit next to any of their relatives or close friends at a competition, they would openly confirm it.

A couple of things here: poor figure skater is the only sport mom who goes unnamed in the whole article, yet she holds a special record. Secondly, the national title must be just a deciption or else it would be too clear who they're talking about. And let me tell you, I searched everywhere to find another skater who might fit with that and none of them fit either with the description ("being on the world stage" so an elite athlete) or the timing ("three months"). The only competition that fits with that description is 4CC 2011 and subsequent Worlds and we know who was competing there �� Bonus factor that it was her doctor ��
So interesting... why there are the names of the other athletes and not the one of the figure skater ? Why this secret. And the same doctor...

ReplyDeleteOk...It is always like this when people say they know the marriage/kids story is real. It is never actual proof, it is always "the way they behave...", "the way they look at each other...", "someone said...", blah blah blah. By body language and facial microexpressions, one can tell how someone feels or if they are hiding something, but it cannot tell you what is the story behind the behavior. When you observe, folllow or even stalk two people you don't personally know, you can create a million stories about them in your mind. None of them is gonna be real unless those two people come and tell you what's their real story.
