I've looked at a bunch of pictures from the Meryl Davis and Fedor Andreev weddings and Marina Zoueva certainly managed to hide from the camera whether it be Town & Country's or People's.
*Everything is mainstream for all intents and purposes but meant non pay for play publications and pages.

What seems fake to you about the Davis/Andreev wedding (covered by two national publications)?
DeleteMarina Zoueva is in two pictures: She's on the right edge of one photo talking to Charlie White (People and Town&Country) and on the left in another photo standing next to Meryl Davis's father and mother (People).

This season, to me, it's felt like the fuckery we see in ice dance has started bleeding over into pairs and infecting it too. The team with the clearly superior speed, skating skills, and refinement, and save for jump woes on the combo, superior execution of elements has to be perfectly perfect to win over a team that, while they had no major visible errors (no popped jumps), they have plenty of work to do otherwise on their skating. The judges just ignore the lack of speed, the lack of smoothness/refinement, the posture etc. and slap some too high PCS on the program. It's straight from ice dance: the real problem is the team that is being overmarked.
My suspicion is what this really is about is the pairs OGM in 2022. China wants that OGM in Beijing and Marina's team is the one who can upset that apple cart and come out ahead of S/H.
Thoughts on Tessa dating a Leaf? It seems almost too much out of fanfiction for me.

DeleteWhat seems fake to me is Andeev "dating" Tanith Belbin, after her dating life had received unpleasant scrutiny in the 0's. Her dating him stableized speculation and then she switched to Lysacek. Then Andeev dated" Tessa Virtue when she's only ever been with Scott Moir, and married Scott Moir in 2009. Then he "dated" Meryl Davis. It seems sketchy to me that any of these women, at the same training center, would "date" their coach's son one after another in two year intervals, despite one (Tanith) having had an unwelcome spotlight on her dating life that her "dating" Fedor cooled down, and despite the other (Tessa) being rumored to date Fedor when she's only ever been with Scott. How can people then look at a third Marina student and think - ok, this one is genuine?
ReplyDeleteI've said before I've purposely not chased down the gossip details, but give me three months, and I could. My current take is based on remembering that Fedor was broke in 2009 - he even sent a message to Maia Shibutani about how to watch icenetowrk without spending 29.00 per month on an ice network subscription.
Meryl's family is loaded. Fedor's mom is very successful but obviously not enough so that he doesn't need to worry about his streaming service bills.
I suspect this. One of his relationships in the past 10 years was fake (Tessa. Totally fake). If you do one fake, particularly after having tagged yourself as "not sure" in the sexual orientation category on myspace (before myspace became obsolete) then what's the deal with your other relationships? Fedor is expreienced. His mom has coached successive world championships, and he's pitched in. Tanith is there afer a mini underage scandal; here is Fedor to settle her down. Tessa and Scott are about to burst onto the Olympic scene but don't want their real relationship acknowledged publicly, here is Fedor to distract. Then Meryl
Seriously? He's had 3 absolutely fake relationships in his mother's stable to clients (counting Jana).But Meryl is authentic? OK.
Tessa's not dating a leaf. She's been married to Scott since 2008.
ReplyDeleteAnn Onimous: at 2:10 you say that Tessa married Scott in 2009, but at 2:11 you say she's been married to Scott since 2008. So which is it? Also, tagging yourself as "not sure" as to sexual orientation seems to me to be the kind of wise-ass response college students give to survey questions about their religion---Druid.
