The way she held her arm was like photoshop in 3D - her entire hip line and her entire rear end was cut off. In the later photo of her behind the chair, some of her front is cut off and you're like - oh HELLO the back end of Tessa. But basically, it looks as if she's keeping the same proportions because of live action photoshop - we see her front (some of it, usually an arm, jacket or other item cuts off the sides, or she's straight on, a/k/a Flat Tessa) or we might see her back, but we never see it together. They're not stay-at-homes who commute strictly between home and the rink, even when they were competing. Their schedule has always included a lot of travel, even noncompetitive travel, appearances, etc. If you look back on Jessica, you can see how the sham was slotted into Scott and Tessa schedule (such as shamming in L.A. and Paris while Tessa was at pt), even though it certainly appears that, in exchange for Jessica making herself available when convenient to them, somebody had to dig into their pockets to make it worth her while. Let's hope it was the Virtues, and not Skate Canada. Even Scott and Tessa aren't eligible for sham money out of Skate Canada's budget.

Obviously, by digging into their pockets, I'm referring to travel for her siblings and her parents - the Dominican, Paris, Nice. I started to notice changes in Tessa in the chest/midsection when they did Strombo in March, so I was suspecting she was already in the first few weeks of pregnancy in Sochi. I try to "compare Tessa to Tessa" and to me she looked smaller than she did last time, and also she did not appear to gain much weight between CSOI and AOI. When she was already showing at CSOI, I didn't even think a show would be possible in July, but then she wasn't that big there at all, and she still looked small at TIFF; it even seemed like she might have lost weight between CSOI and TIFF, and the TIFF dress wasn't the type to hide much. Your response has allayed some of my concerns, so thank you VERY much.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2583966972735299482.post-75470499862069431712014-09-22T17:21:39.497-07:002014-09-22T17:21:39.497-07:00If she carries transverse, the baby isn't goin...If she carries transverse, the baby isn't going to show much even if it's a BIG baby (although what are the odds Scott and Tessa have a big baby).

When I was preparing the blog banner, it was going to joke about the AAP subsidy going to Repetto shoes or something, but then I remember all of the Ilderton Skating Club's hustling off Scott and Tessa and thought, there you go.

Based on their past track record (competing at Canadians and Worlds in 2009 despite a ridiculously short period of recovery after CES surgery, competing at World 2011 shortly after having a baby), nobody at AAP would doubt their good faith. They can just take the money I'm sure they think they've earned - the Canadian tax payer owes them a lot given all the glory they've brought to Canada. Remember, they're the ones who decide this stuff - they decide the rules and what's right and wrong. So what if they basically humiliate the Canadian figure skating public with every word out of their mouths. And if they passed their monthly subsidies onto the ISC, as long as it's not direct (third party signature on AAP check), nobody can really say anything to them, as AAP isn't $$ need based, and AAP isn't going to be checking on Scott and Tessa's other assets.

Scott and Tessa really do like money. I don't mean they're conspicuous consumers, or, despite Tessa's high profile outings and high end wardrobe, this is about lifestyle. They like money. Which is why I do have my suspicions. AAP is like free money they didn't use at all since Sochi, but were eligible for (medical exemption, 4 month), so why not just pass it on to the Family Firm. The Family Firm would use it for skating purposes (it's a bursary fund), not to renovate the kitchen or anything.

The deadline to compete at Canadians wasn't a problem last time. She was pregnant, but had also had CES surgery, and that was their fig leaf - "we want to take our time and really be sure we're in perfect shape - last time we had to rush." This time it would be very interesting to see their excuse for not skating at Canadians, since they're purportedly healthy, and, since were receiving AAP, training their little hearts out.oycanadahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14056686007756844095noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2583966972735299482.post-76478382090512383332014-09-22T17:07:12.638-07:002014-09-22T17:07:12.638-07:00^^ or simply a mention or retweet on someone else&...^^ or simply a mention or retweet on someone else's comment/picture about how beautiful they are.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2583966972735299482.post-82537238694343993882014-09-22T17:06:31.913-07:002014-09-22T17:06:31.913-07:00"Hey, you want attention? Anything good belongs to them, it's stuff they use for big ticket events and highly placed connections.

That's not, btw, a complaint about not getting their personal lives. I'm simply saying that anything of actual substance, anything real, is not for us. Look at how long they've both been on social media and the absolute zero they've shared of a touring, training or rehearsal candid. They enjoy having the public, the supporters of their skating, on the edge of their virtual seats, waiting for the next drop, gagging over it, while they and theirs think it's hilarious that the public fawns over complete junk, bullshit and fraud. Every time. They mock people with this. This time, she is still extremely thin and was able to get her abs back to probably the same place, but now she has already had a child, (as well as the natural body changes of women in their 20's), so these changes that have occurred since then make some changes in her not as obvious as before.

It's possible she's had hyperemesis this whole time and hasn't gained any extra weight, or even lost some. Some women are sick the entire pregnancy. This also may be why they didn't have the opportunity to train as they expected and have decided to sit out the season. In these cases, what's most important is how babies measure. If that's on target, then it's fine (as long as mom isn't passing out, or lacking nutrients, severely anemic, etc., which her doctor would be monitoring closely).

She's super sensitive (as evidenced by her twitter) since people are now aware of last time, in addition to talking about this time, so she is being very careful to stay as fit as she possibly can.

Other than the "late night workout" picture she posted (from which I expected many more in the same vein), we really haven't seen her to evaluate for a few weeks now. Obviously those on-ice pictures from last week weren't conclusive (and chosen/posted by her and SC), but they looked much more to what I would expect, and not at all like the supposed mere hours before. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2583966972735299482.post-53072314340305599342014-09-22T16:26:55.351-07:002014-09-22T16:26:55.351-07:00Skate Canada didn't say "returning the mo...Skate Canada didn't say "returning the money". They said Scott and Tessa are "declining the money" as if they're free to continue to accept it (i.e. "although eligible") but have nobly decided to release it to other skaters.

They're not only not free to continue to accept it, AAP isn't offering it, because despite what Skate Canada said, VM are NOT eligible for funding. But you know, this is how they all roll. It's "who says" land. Who says we meant "eligible for funding?" We meant "Eligible to compete in eligible competition". It was YOU that connected that with declining the money!

They're tiresome.

The money isn't available to any athlete who is skipping a World Championship season/opting out of competition (unless AAP has turned shady too). So that sanctimonious little phrase was as self-serving as everthing else, and a misrepresentation of financial support. I suppose people could hypothesize that as AAP is a government progam, and government programs are often understaffed, it might be a clerical error and AAP simply didn't realize Virtue and Moir had been declining money all this time. They either just kept sending back those checks, or one staffer at AAP had them cut off from funding after Sochi and another staffer at AAP didn't update the list. That hypothesis doesn't fly when you see how on point the rest of the Canadian team is on the list. No Patrick Chan. Dylan's subsidy is cut. Lawrence & Sweiger's subsidy each reflects their current status, not the status of a team that finished in the top 16 last season. If Scott and Tessa were wrongly on the list til August 1, 2014, it's amazing how it was only them.

The list wasn't "Athletes eligible to receive funds". The list was called "athletes RECEIVING AAP support AS OF". Not eligible as of.

I'm quite shocked Tessa used the word "My" when she said "My great grandma's dinner plates". It's more characteristic of her to say "Great grandma's dinner plates." and then once everybody had showed their ass assuming, she could have said "Who said I meant my grandma?"
It's like her 7pm energy drink while failing to mention 7pm when.oycanadahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14056686007756844095noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2583966972735299482.post-44358821473561102072014-09-22T16:13:01.450-07:002014-09-22T16:13:01.450-07:00Some possibilities:
-They never were planning to ...Some possibilities:

-They never were planning to compete, and the funds they received for July/August were their two month retirement grace period (I didn't see any September list), and they are done forever. This would involve lying to the public, but as long as they haven't lied to AAP themselves, they shouldn't be in any trouble, because hey, fuck us. Patrick didn't do this because he actually might come back for next season and doesn't want to retire forever.
-They weren't training at a serious competitive level, but they were within the four month excuse period because she's pregnant or one of them is injured. They might have continued to collect the money for the full four months, or longer if they got permission, but they decided to stop because of the blog.
-They were training in earnest, but as the deadline for Nationals appeared (which I seem to remember was at the end of this month), they realized they really weren't ready, so they decided to decline further funding and officially take the season off. They might have reached a wall where they realized they're human and managing CECS, one small child, a pregnancy, a possible switch in training center, and a February tour is just too much to be ready for Worlds in March. Or, God forbid, there could be some issue with her pregnancy that doesn't lend itself to the type of heavy training she did last time (and I'm still wondering why she appears a lot slimmer than last time and if her diet is healthy).

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2583966972735299482.post-83402073936696221502014-09-22T15:26:10.652-07:002014-09-22T15:26:10.652-07:00The thing that's interesting to me about the f...The thing that's interesting to me about the funding is that Patrick was on record as still deciding, was not on the list as receiving money, and now appears will be competing in some capacity. According to the previous blog post that explained the AAP, he will presumably be retroactively nominated.
Tessa and Scott, also on the record as still deciding, were on the list as receiving money, and now they say they've decided not to. Obviously, a pregnancy (or injury) would have made this possible, since I don't think they were actively training. Skating more than they let on? Probably. I do think they were seriously considering coming back, knowing they had the pregnancy clause working to cushion their time.

The article states "Although eligible, they have declined their funding available...". It certainly implies they have always declined the funding, but it doesn't specifically say they have always declined all the funding. All it means is they are *now* declining funding, per the advent of this decision.
I don't know what happens to the funds they've been receiving up until now. It would seem to me that they would have to return it, but given who they are, it may be at the discretion of Mike/the committee to evaluate if they honestly had the intention of competing.
