She doesn't raise it and proactively attempt to steal focus from the team. All of her public energy goes to promoting Davis White as an ice dance team while not addressing her own relationship with Charlie White. I wonder now if that crap was also to telegraph how heterosexual they want us to know he is. Scott was a very eccentric, hyperactive, guy who got into skating because he's from a skating family and he wanted to be like his older brother. I read an interview recently from an actor who said it's such a fallacy when men go "I did it because of the girls!" Scott was a little kid already surrounded by women. When he met Tessa that was it.

IOW I think he got into it because he was always going to get into it - his family ran the rink. He stuck with it because of his partnership with Tessa. They sell the "girls" thing because he's officially not with Tessa and because no Moir can be gay. Which - how would he know? He knows nothing of figure skating outside performance value and somebody didn't fall.

He's right that Wilkes was carrying water for the ISU and also not disclosing her apparent conflict-of-interest. I wonder what her tune would have been a few years hence when Skate Canada's Olympic gold medalists claimed to be intending to compete in the Grand Prix when they were expecting a baby and knew, and Wilkes knew, they wouldn't be there. Possibly faking an injury to get out of is bad, forthrightly letting people know you're not doing it is bad, but letting people think you ARE doing it (with the help of Wilkes) and letting an event be promoted and tickets sold partly on the basis of your participation when you're never going to be there is fine? Maybe all Wilkes cares about is that tickets were sold. She was certainly pushing Scott and Tessa to say they'd skate at Canadians 2011 when she "interviewed" them at that faked up book signing. Her agenda is get the public to shell out the money, never mind if the featured attraction is actually going to show up. Perhaps that was her problem with Kwan and Cohen. They let it be known too far in advance that they wouldn't be doing it, before the public could be fleeced.oycanadahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14056686007756844095noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2583966972735299482.post-39016220172357931862013-11-05T16:58:11.947-08:002013-11-05T16:58:11.947-08:00Yes, that's also a reason why I called the art...Yes, that's also a reason why I called the article a gem. Just because the end product looks effortless - doesn't mean its easy - it's actually the opposite. To make it look easy and effortless - that's when you achieve perfection in mechanics - and is highlighted when it is shown in slow motion - the perfect runner, the perfect dive, gymnastics, the baseball pitcher who just doesn't throw a fastball etc...What I appreciate with VM is obviously the skating mechanics - but then add that they really don't do filler movement...I was actually very surprised that Sandra Bezic commented last night on Battle of the Blades that the beauty of Mahler was that all the elements were beautifully interwoven. Marina described that she wanted to show a romantic relationship between a man and a woman. But in the end without VMs skating skills - the choreography does not come alive. Granted not every CD, OD, SD and FD that VM have done is a masterpiece - but hell - these guys have never done filler and have always tried to be somehow original. But without the strong basics - that goes out the window.
In the end - I am glad to know that there are other skating fans who do appreciate what VM bring to the table. What kind of reality show is that?"

The kind where they make up a story beforehand and then it's acted out? As in, *documentary.* loooool

I was looking again at this interview. It's creepy how Tessa is so smiley, cheerfully determined in her message about this experience being so positive, so genuine....but she never either looks sincere nor sounds real. It's very eerie wind-up doll.

It gives me chills how manipulative this is. You said elsewhere in these comments that you think they purposely plan stuff like this so they can use it as excuses later on as to why they cannot reveal the truth. The more I see this interview, and their demeanor throughout, the more I feel it's not so much a way to have an excuse for not revealing, although that is of course a byproduct.

I think it's more that for years now Tessa has decided she WILL NOT allow the public to know the truth about her status with Scott and her tunnel-vision zeal to accomplish this has turned her into this ruthlessly cynical person, with no moral qualms about pushing her husband to whore himself out with fake girlfriends or denying her own child. I don't think she's giving any thought to repercussions or considering any big picture. It's about maintaining what she believes is a secret (from the public at large) and she'll go to any lengths to stay hidden. ANY lengths.

It's not normal for a woman to *want* her husband to pose as someone else's lover. Nor is it normal for a woman to *want* to appear as if she's not a mother when she has a young child. A baby turns your heart inside-out and rearranges all of life's priorities (talking about normal people here, not those other "bad parents" mentioned in other comments). For Tessa to accept (more than that, to want it and plan it) Scott's boorish behavior with the fake girlfriends and to pretend she doesn't have a child is to mess with the very core of her being. It's scary. She must be surrounded by people who are equally sick, there's no other way to account for the families' acceptance of all of this.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2583966972735299482.post-83673305585513353072013-11-04T17:04:00.740-08:002013-11-04T17:04:00.740-08:00Yeah, she started out decently enough but then che...Yeah, she started out decently enough but then checked out. In each preview shot, Tessa is styled for television. In one of her P&G plugs she said she doesn't wear make-up at the rink while training - there's even images of her and Scott practicing for CSOI in 2010 where she's make-up free. We've even seen images of her at airports basically make-up free. In her "tearful" clip she's got on make-up designed for high definition cameras. In the "two "kids" at a carnival" scenes she's done up like a tampon commercial. In the pool her make-up is done, her hair is done, her earings are in - that coordinate with her swimsuit - and her swimsuit is studded with crystals.

It's also odd to me that the interior set-ups we've seen (such as in the Hilborns) don't look like reality TV as I've seen it, which isn't much, but includes Dog Whisperer (where it's hand held cameras, not bounce boards, mikes, key lights, cables strewn all over) and DWTs (DWTS rehearsal packages are shot with a hand-held camera). So for the Hilborn house segment, the crew actually came in and set up.
