Nice job, Canadian Marketing Association!

Thanks to the participant in a previous comments section who linked to the first photo below.

I must say Canada's marketing and communications community has just been showing its ass representing all over the place as models of professionalism, integrity and truthiness, going above and beyond for Tessa and Scott. Love Rose Schwartz's* Robyn Short's #Imstillshaking, and love when marketing gets meta - the actual marketing person is the face promoting the guests she's highlighting in connection with her event, and she even models the reaction required from us. Again with the OMG, Scott and Tessa are such huge stars you guys! meme they've been spamming us with all summer. We get that, right? So we should check ourselves. Just be grateful Scott and Tessa are out there at all, and don't ask questions.Who do we think we are. #bowdown

Here's Tessa at TWIINS, posing with Robyn Short, Marketing and Communications Coordinator at Toronto Rehab Foundation.Toronto Rehab put out a whole bunch of promotional materials for this event, but that's no reason to suspect Robyn Short is acquainted with any photo editing professionals.

Well, maybe "professional" is a stretch.

This is how Tessa really looked last night.

Bad angle.

Bad angle plus crazy face.
ETA, thanks to a comment below, WTF:

What happened here is Tessa posed for the picture with Robyn Short, holding in the gut she'd acquired from sucking down whipping cream on National Coffee Day.Then she bolted for the liquor, hors d'oeuvres and carbonated beverages. She's got crazy face in the photo above because she feels self conscious about her lack of self-control, which was so extreme it bloated not just her midsection, but her boobs.

BTW - Tessa and Scott care a whole, whole lot that the first picture is clearly manipulated and she's looking pregnant as all get out in the other photos. And by that I mean, they care not at all.

P.S. Remember when the blog said Tessa could be projecting three feet in front, wear a belly shirt and paint a target on her abdomen, and everybody would pretend not to notice except for here? Maybe that gave Scott and Tessa ideas.

  1. Photo assumption is a very dangerous thing but such a fun game to play. I usually just nod my head and not comment on pictures but I always look at Scott in their pictures because you can always gage the situation by his expression. Though dark and grainy in the picture with Tessa he is comfortable and has what I call his relaxed smile. Stick a ‘fan’ in between them and his eyes go dull and joker smile comes out – overstretched lips with lots of clenched teeth. Grin and bear it…Grin and bear it.. Over soon… All of his pictures where he is clearly uncomfortable look like that. Assumption only… P.S. Love hand in pocket pose. Somebody has been practicing his modeling pose. Being sincere.

Not just sincere, really really genuinely sincere. Yes sir, that's VM!!

    2. Yeah, Scott's shark-eyed smile. As bad as it is above, it was so much worse with Jessica Dube. Either comically, intentionally exaggerated, or veritably tormented. The smile that launched a jillion fan fictions about the Olympic and World Champion ice dancer too guilty or too enslaved by his libido to break up with a girlfriend he hated and could hardly bear to touch. Those were fun.

    3. That bottom picture (first picture that went up last night other than the selfie), literally made me laugh out loud when I saw it. Since so much has been messed with the last few months, I feel we haven't really seen her accurately, save once or twice. *This* is what I expect her to look like right now. Just like last time.

    4. I think they're flipping the bird, basically. There's fan discussion this week about they photoshop their social media output, and directly after last night's event comes one absurdly photoshopped image posted with others where we can see the real story? It's not cooincidence. They're just in-your-facing it.

    5. Well OC it seems that per TorontoRehab's twitter, there is a new picture of them and you can see the the woman who was initially photographed with Tessa in your third picture actually is quite a bit taller than VM, lol...and then going back to Lawes she just tweeted again that she will be at the Goldline store on Saturday in London...I can't decide between Tessa or Kaitlyn who gets more excited these days in being photographed...
On another note - with Oslo, Norway dropping out of the bidding of 2022 Winter games - it's interesting to see the general public's comments about how the Olympics and the IOC are just corrupt and not worth the $$$$...

    6. I think it will be a while before the Olympics utterly loses its saintly aura, but the ISU is doing its bit, making an absolute spectacle of its disinterest in being accountable.

    7. You people CLEARLY despise VM.

Why follow? Why look? Why give a shit? It is beyond reasonable to follow anyone that closely when you hate everything about them? Makes NO sense except to bully and be mean and critical. Serves NO purpose.

    8. I'm thinking of doing something more constructive with my time, like finding a blog I hate, keeping my browser open to it 24/7, and racing between it and twitter throwing tantrums.

    9. ^Does this mean you won't be posting links to "Look - so slim, where's the baby!" anymore? Damn. Just when I'm suddenly looking forward to those.

  2. That middle picture, dark and grainy though it is, gave me a wave of that thing I've felt about these two for a long time now: isn't that enough? I mean, it's a picture of them attending an event together. They're lovely, colour coordinated, very sweet. She's visibly pregnant, to my eye anyway, but they don't have to say or do anything about it, and no one particularly cares, outside of the odd "congratulations!" , probably. There! Enough! All done! They went to an event, they smiled for a picture, if they had to talk they could talk about concussion research...aaaaaaand scene.

Sigh. They really could have been lovely public figures - ambassadors for sport, role models, etc. But...they've chosen to be something infinitely stupider, and, though we've all noted that it probably doesn't take much time out of their days...it's still something rather harder than just normally leaving their normal house to go to a normal event where normal pictures are taken of them and then everyone just normally goes back to their normal lives. But I suppose the whole thing with the sham is how firmly they believe and must prove how utterly not-normal they are.

I had a bit of understanding when they were teenagers. But now it's just so...exhausting and so far past stupid it boggles the mind.

    1. Who the hell knows - we're left to speculate based on behavior. Maybe after all these years being famous is STILL such a kick that jerking people's chains still entertains them. Look! We're famous - they're not! We do this and they do that!

But I also strongly believe this thing long since went off the rails and any rationale they've got is incredibly tenous by this point. It's more lies to protect past lies, and protect themselves, and save face. Saving face apparently involves keeping it up, and losing face would be doing what you describe. It might mean they weren't right.

    2. 9:03 am, ITA with everything you just said. They look like an adorable, normal couple, happy and expecting, lending their celebrity standing to attend an event for charity.
Why do we need to get all crazy? Everyone would comment and awww, and that would be the end.

    3. Maybe that's not enough for them. Look what they're doing now. Tessa shows up at TWIINS with Scott, with contradictory images about how she looked. Kaitlyn Lawes retweets and announces her imminent visit to London. The last thing they want is anything where "that would be the end of it." These "kids" aren't looking for privacy, and aren't avoiding attention. They're not being protective.

    4. Lawes again has tweeted the Goldenplates dinner tonight. Hmmm a bit excessive considering that the event is soldout. Me thinks Scott is on a plane to Winnipeg...and probably Mama Virtue took the picture of Tessa on instagram today...

    5. @ 11:19. Heavy-handed indeed. So typical of the way they do things. Next, KL will be hashtagging #SOHAPPY #besttimeofmylife.

Scott never needs to tweet a thing. "His girls" do all the work for him. His main job was joining these social media sites in the first place so he can get tagged and come up in any search.

Considering a non-stop flight from London to Winnipeg is only about 2 hr, 15 min., quick trips for one evening are very doable.

    6. If Scott shows up in Winnipeg, he's got other business there than just shamming, considering Lawes is in London tomorrow and they can get it done there, dropping the images later. #lookwhoshowedup #soexcitedtomeetScottMoir

  4. Although, in fairness, although she's out in public there, that doesn't seem to be a posed photo, or one she anticipated. The blog is more interested in the material that gets out there in social media and in public appearances, stuff they're pushing at us in support of hoaxing the supporters of their sport and their skating.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Tessa posted that picture herself...

    ReplyDelete
  6. Appears Scott took it on the way to a very important meeting. Maybe they were trying to distract with the movement, arm placement and colouring, but all I see is a pregnant Tessa.

Not sure why she would post it like that, or is this to prove she doesn't photo-shop? Because it's not helping the not pregnant case. She can say she doesn't mess with them and look pregnant...or look not pregnant and they're photo-shopped, but she can't have it both ways.
Maybe the next pregnancy she'll have honed her skills enough for it to work.

Or, as it's been said before, she knows she could be showing ridiculously and no one would say anything. She's testing the masses to see if anybody other than here will call her on it. They won't. Just us crazies!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Compared to other photos of herself, that particular picture is garnering a rather tepid response on Tumblr and even in the Instagram comments themselves. No one is going to say outside of here and on private Twitters that she looks pregnant because you'll be shunned.

I think it's a test. She knows that people know she looks different and this blog in particular has been hounding her on it for the past week. She wants to see what she can get away with. (Murder, Tessa. The answer is murder.)

    ReplyDelete
  8. HA, love how she made it look like a fan encounter. It explains why it had the hell photoshopped (badly) out of it...

    ReplyDelete
  9. She like to alternate between pictures where she looks clearly pregnant and others where it's not as obvious. I think it's to confuse people and make them doubt what their eyes are really seeing.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Yep 10:51. And since she makes sure to post plenty she's altering, (either by Photoshop or stance/hiding), then those are the majority, and must be the reality.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Yeah, they're having fun: "you can't catch us - or you can, but it doesn't matter!" You don't post the "nerd" photo and this image within days of each other anticipating people will believe "Yes, it's real time." They're instigating.

I remember when the blog started, I was pretty sure it would run out of material sooner or later. Never happend. At first I was all - for real - "It's uncanny! Something happens whenever I start wondering if the blog will run out of content." Now, some of the content wasn't generated by Virtue Moir - when the blog started looking at program content, it opened up a whole can of worms. But when it comes to sham content on the blog, I know VM are intentionally supply side.

  12. This tumbler site thinks VM aren't aware of the blog, otherwise *surely* legal action would have been taken. According to Canadian law this place is slander! Gasp!

Among other pearls, that no one here discloses how they know what they say is true because then they would be charged with libel or slander. ??

    Hahahahahaha

  14. Maybe one of them should send Tessa or Scott a private message via twitter, or alert Skate Canada, or email a Moir at the ISC, let them know the blog exists, so they can have it shut down right away.

  16. My favorite is the part about how only the blogger knows/has this information. Yep. Just OC. No one else knows or has seen the facts themselves.

  17. SOMEBODY WOULD HAVE CRACKED!

Look at this shit. Whole mixed zones of professional photographers taking Tessa's picture then editing her midsection out on the computer before getting it out on twitter/instagram or stamping it with their watermark and putting it on their webpage. IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO KEEP SECRET.

LIke all these people love fans so much, they can't wait to let them in on things.
